Summer Day Camp for Asylum Seekers
This last week, we had 12 very sweet children from a variety of countries visit our department for a summer day camp. They were children of political asylum seekers in Hong Kong, and they were from places such as Somalia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, etc etc.
Our team of student helpers taught them arts and crafts, and dancing and singing. We also had visits to the motion capture lab in the Multimedia Innovation Center, a virtual reality gaming session in our own Game Lab, and a table-tennis session in the gym. The children had a great time, and our students did too!
We hope to be able to do more activities with these children in the future. We hope that you will join us next time! it’s a great chance to meet people from different countries and cultures, as well as to offer some much-needed help to some very deserving children.
